In proximity of California, there is a cattle ranch in Solano country. Billionaires who do not reveal their identity have been buying large swathes of land there to create a new city. It will be to the north-east of San Francisco. Flannery Associates made an offer to buy about 950 acres at Peterson Ranch, though the proposal has been turned down by the land owner. Flannery is backed up by Mike Moritz of Sequoia Capital, Reid Hoffman of LinkedIn and Marc Anderson, a venture capitalist among others. Though in this case Flannery offer was not accepted by the land owners, many others who own the land did accept the offers.
The idea is to build the city from scratch. It will be a walkable city powered by green energy. There will be thousands of jobs. This is the vision of California Forever. They have plans to engage with officials and the community.
