There are other authors such as Basbenes and Gage who accuse OpenAI and Microsoft of unauthorized use of their work especially for training the algorithms. It is surprising that the tech firms create billion-dollar businesses without compensating the creators. There is a lawsuit against Google filed by Clarkson, a law firm alleging the company scraped data from millions of users. This was done to train the LLM models. Google has publicly acknowledged that there is use of publicly available information to train AI models (such as Bard).
