Most of the Indian organisations have realised the importance of data science. They are leveraging analytics at some level. This improves decision making and automation/operationalisation of processes. It improves productivity and cost effectiveness. Data science has been adopted in a big way by retail and banking. There are studies to suggest that maturity of analytics is less at Indian organisations than that of their counterparts in developed countries. It requires a change in data analytics which should become mainstream. Data availability, planning and storage should be streamlined. These should become a part of CXOs remit — his decision-making should be driven by data.
