Computing was thought to be a subject to be pursued by science and technology students. However, of late, there is realisation that even humanities do require the knowledge of computing. Biology students use computing in genome sequencing. Drones are used to map the heritage buildings and facilitate the understanding of history. Bioinformatics is now an established subject. Humanities research too require the knowledge of analytics and computing. There is a need for interdisciplinary approach. Thus today we have come to subject study plus computing (X S) as the standard. Big Tech too has started recruting manpower from different streams.
