Twitter has decided to test new privacy-related features. It will give the users an ability to edit follower lists. There will be facility to archive old tweets; once archived they become invisible after designated time. Users will be able to make accounts private or public. A user will be able to remove followers, and hide tweets. The time options for such hiding could be 30, 60, 90 days or a full year. Users will be able to withdraw from a public conversation.
Twitter is also testing Safety Mode. The tweet’s content and the relationship between the tweet’s author and replier would be the foundation. The account with which one user frequently interacts or follows will not be autoblocked. Hateful remarks or uninvited replies will be autoblocked or temporarily suspended. Twitter should be a safe place to participate in the public conversation without fear of abuse. Safety Mode counters insults.
