Those who are well-versed in AI are being hired both by the tech and non-tech companies. Non-tech firms such as Tata Steel, L&T and Mondelez hire AI talent. Some of the companies upskill the internal manpower on AI in their operations. Some of the roles for which AI manpower is hired are ML engineers, AI security specialists, ML engineers, AI security specialists, AI Infrastructure Manages, AI writers, Drone Experts and AI Project Managers.
Tata steel has set up Integrated Operations Centre to control remotely the operations of sinter plants in Jamshedpur. It also has brought their agglomerate operations into remote control. These are assisted by AI. L&T uses ML, drone analytics, automation robotics and welding. It also uses geospatial mapping and digital manufacturing. L&T is upskilling its manpower. They have appointed digital champions for various projects. There are niche roles such as AI architects, data scientists, AI infrastructure manager, AI security specialists. Mondelez is building AI capabilities and workforce. Mondelez hires for digital marketing and data science roles.
As more and more non tech firms opt for automation and digitization, the trend to hire AI manpower will pick up.
